Learning New Words:
When you are in a Learn session, you are seeing words for the first time. You must answer correctly in a row for the number of times set in your Learn Threshold (in Settings). Once you do, the word is added to your review deck to be practiced later.
Reviewing Words (SRS):
In a Review session, you practice words you have already learned using a Spaced Repetition System (SRS). You must answer correctly in a row for the number of times set in your Review Threshold.
A correct answer schedules the next review further into the future. An incorrect answer brings it back sooner, helping you focus on the words you find difficult.
Gamified elements:
The app keeps track of your streak and tells you this in forms of pop-ups (Optional – toggle in Settings) that show at 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 words being answered correctly in a row.
In addition to the above, the app keeps a score, which increases the more you answer questions correctly, initially you get 5 points per correct answer, this receives an x2 modifer at streak 5, x4 at
streak 10, reaching the max of x8 at 20+. You lose the modifier bonus if you lose your streak. The score isn't shown here but is available for you to view in the statistics and session screens.
